TRAVEL INSTRUCTIONS:

The City of Lodz, the second largest in Poland, is located in the heart of Poland, and enjoys excellent communication and travel links. The best method for reaching Lodz is to fly into Warsaw"s OKECIE AIRPORT, via any of the following airlines: SAS, British Airways, Lot Airlines, Lufthansa, and Alitalia (Lot and Rayanair Airlines now offer direct flights from Warsaw to Lodz).

Upon arrival in Warsaw, it is considered generally more convenient to take the POLSKI EXPRESS COACH/BUS, from Warsaw's OKECIE AIRPORT, direct to Lodz. Located in the lobby of OKECIE AIRPORT is the ORBIS TRAVEL AGENCY, which sells bus tickets to Lodz. The busses leave approximatelyh every hour, directly from the Airport to Lodz. Students also may go to the Main Railway Station in Central Warsaw, to take the train to Lodz. The city of Lodz has several train stations, and it is important that you disembark at the LODZ FABRYCZNA Terminal.

During the summer prior to matriculation, it is essential that each student forwards to AIM a copy of his ITINERARY, in order that AIM/The Medical University of Lodz can assist in making the proper travel arrangements for all students between Warsaw and Lodz.

VISA INSTRUCTIONS:

All US and Canadian Citizens, as well as Permanent Residents/Asylees are required to contact the Polish Consulate in their area of residence. Go online to "Polish Consulates in the US", or "Embassy of The Republic of Poland in Ottawa", click onto "Consular Information", and then onto "Visa Information". Read over the formal requirements for "Long-Term Residence Visas", download a Visa Application, and then forward it in, along with all required documents, to the address on the Application.

It is important to note that each accepted applicant will receive an official CERTIFICATE OF ENROLMENT, signed and dated by The Medical University of Lodz, which he must forward in along with all other visa documents.
